With a few resident Australians in the HoneyKids team we’re a little bit excited about this one! As the first Australian gallery to establish its presence in Asia, we suspect Sullivan+Strumpf is also excited to announce that they’re branching out from Sydney to open an exhibition space in Singapore’s lovely Gillman Barracks.
The inaugural exhibition Arrival explores the work of artists reflecting themes such as identity, materiality, and construction of memory as well as the fragility and malleability of the human condition (and if anyone knows anything about fragility and malleability, it’s us parents).
Arrival encourages audiences to delve into the complexity of contemporary art practice through recent works in sculpture, painting, photography and installation. This first exhibition will include Australia-based artists Tony Albert, Sydney Ball, eX de Medici, Tim Silver and Hiromi Tango, and it looks to be a doozy. And with 11 years’ experience in the Sydney art scene, we’re looking forward to seeing what Sullivan+Strumpf has to offer in future. Bring on the Aussie talent in Singapore!
